Minimum 8 years relevant distribution and warehousing experience in a FMCG environment - essential

The incumbent will assume responsibility for efficiently managing all aspects of finished goods handling from receipt from the factory to on-time, in-full delivery to customer.
Overall management and coordination of the distribution and warehousing function.
Ensure daily, weekly and monthly planning is done for all warehousing and distribution operations and manage adherence to plan.
Manage the daily picking, packing and invoicing operations for local and export deliveries and ensure that the invoicing is completed on-time.
Manage performance of 3
party LSP’s against contractual requirements such as on-time delivery, shortages, damages and outstanding POD’s.
Manage customer liaison process and ensure that delivery exceptions are resolved timeously and delivery exception trends are addressed.
Manage the distribution administration process and ensure that POD’s, credits and credit queries are processed timeously and accurately.
Manage the daily warehouse operations of ex-factory receiving, put away, storage, assembly and dispatch.
Plan and manage weekly and daily inter-warehouse vehicle requirements.
Ensure that warehouse space, equipment and warehouse flow is optimized and that future warehouse requirements are planned.
Ensure accurate inventory records are maintained through disciplined stock control and a formal cycle count program.
Plan and manage stock takes, coordinate analysis of stock take results and implement stock accuracy improvement initiatives.
Measure and manage staff performance through formal staff appraisals, development, coaching and disciplinary procedures.
Establish continuous improvement culture based on LEAN principles by identifying and managing ongoing business improvement projects.
Ensure that all business processes, procedures and job profiles are documented and updated.
Monitor and manage operational performance measures and scorecards and present monthly management report.
Participate in annual budget process and long term planning and control monthly operational costs to stay within budget.
